We are those people
Friday, November 6, 2009 at 08:20PM We are those people, the ones who let all the leaves fall before raking. (Um, it's not like we have any precious grass to save, it all died during this summer's drought. So stop looking disapproving.) Even though our neighbors have as many trees as we do and I don't see them out raking or blowing leaves every day, their yards still have visible grass. It's suspect, really. Our leaves are so thick, they're drifting like snow. I haven't seen the weeds grass in two weeks, back when I thought to myself "I should really get a jump on it before it's overwhelming." By overwhelming, I mean that Shawn and I regularly rake and bag over 50 giant lawn bags each fall. We do it right too--smushing them down to reduce the loft and pack the most into the bags. Then we get tired and quit, and the rest "mulch" on the lawn. But we'll start again tomorrow, raking and bagging. Please stop by. We need all the help we can get.
