Beans, beans--Good for your heart

Ok, I’ve tried for two days to put an entertaining spin on picking and fixing green beans. I got nothing but the title, which made me giggle (‘cause I have a 5 year old’s sense of humor sometimes). I am excited that produce has started to roll in. I’m thrilled over my tiny bean patch coughing up 6 pints of beans on the first picking. I know that doesn’t sound like much but it will continue to give me 4-5 pints every few weeks until August (when I become sick of picking and fixing and pull them up). All that adds up to feeding the two of us green beans all winter. Yea, green bean casseroles! I know NPR made fun of it last Thanksgiving, but green bean casserole may be the best application of canned, condensed, totally-not-from-nature soup ever.
